Neil Young will return to the stage in April, with the singer-songwriter announcing his first public headline performance since 2019.Young will headline the sixth edition of the Light Up the Blues charity show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on April 22, alongside his CSNY bandmate Stephen Stills. The benefit show – organised by Stills and his family since 2013 – raises money for autism awareness non-profit Autism Speaks.

Thania Garcia Ellie Goulding notched her 17th BMI honor, winning the performing rights organization’s President’s Award at the 2022 BMI London Awards on Oct. 3. The private event, held at London’s Savoy Hotel on Oct. 3, also honored global breakout Tems with the BMI Impact Award and Ed Sheeran in multiple categories. Goulding’s win sees her joining the likes of past honorees Imagine Dragons, Noel Gallagher, Luis Fonsi, Pitbull, Willie Nelson, Gloria and Emilio Estefan and many more. She was presented the award by BMI President/CEO and co-host of the evening, Mike O’Neill. “I’ve never won anything like this before and it means so much to me,” Goulding said in her acceptance speech. “I moved out of my home when I was 16 and I kind of started then. O’Rourke, who is running for governor against Republican Greg Abbott in the Nov. 8 general election, uploaded footage of the interaction on his Instagram stories with other clips of him high-fiving and taking photos with fans.

The answer is three-pronged: by having the cast (which includes Susan Sarandon, Trace Adkins and Beth Ditto) tackle country classics, by sprinkling in a selection of unexpected pop covers, and, on the licensing side, by championing upcoming country artists. “We really wanted to focus on covers because that’s a strong entry point,” Thomas says, before elaborating on her mandate: “Always be unexpected, always feature different eras and styles.” By that criteria, episode 3, which aired Tuesday night, was a resounding success. Beginning with a twangy take on Lizzo’s “Juice,” the show segued into a soaring rendition of Faith Hill’s “Breathe.” Throw in guest star Tanya Tucker singing “Delta Dawn” and a Miranda Lambert hit from the ‘00s, and you have a decidedly eclectic lineup.
