The studio is planning to release the film in theaters this fall. “In the Land of Saints and Sinners” unfolds in a remote Irish village, where a damaged Finbar (Neeson) is forced to fight for redemption after a lifetime of sins. The question is what price is he willing to pay, as he finds himself drawn into a lethal game of cat and mouse with a trio of vengeful terrorists. Neeson has starred in dozens of films, including “Schindler’s List,” “Taken,” and “Batman Begins.” Condon was nominated for nearly every award imaginable for her supporting performance in “The Banshees of Inisherin.” The starry ensemble also includes Colm Meaney (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”), Oscar-nominee Ciaran Hinds (“Belfast”), Jack Gleeson (“Game of Thrones”), Desmond Eastwood (“Normal People”) and Sarah Greene (“Bad Sisters”).

Naman Ramachandran Principal photography has commenced on Adam MacDonald’s survival thriller “Out Come the Wolves.” The feral feature, which will be shot on location in Dundas, Ontario throughout May, follows the story of a woman who takes her fiancé to a secluded cabin to meet her best male friend, before things take a dark turn during a hunting trip. The film is represented for international by Altitude Film Sales, who will be discussing the film with buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Market. MacDonald’s credits include “Backcountry”, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and “Pyewacket”, which also debuted at TIFF. He also directed the third and fourth seasons of “Slasher” and the upcoming season five for AMC’s Shudder. Most recently, he completed directing the first virtual reality horror movie experience for Meta entitled “Be Mine.”

Naman Ramachandran Film Soho, official partners of the Cannes Film Market and Cannes Next, has revealed the speakers for the fireside chat at this year’s Global Virtual Production Summit. The opening event, to be held on May 18, will feature “1899” cinematographer Nik Summerer, BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated visual effects supervisor at ILM, David Vickery (“Avatar: The Way of Water,” the Jurassic World franchise), and actor Christina Chong (Star Trek series “Strange New Worlds”) discussing the topic How Virtual Production is Empowering Film and Storytelling Visionaries. The discussion will be moderated by BBC Radio 1 film critic Ali Plumb. The ticketed event will take place at the new beachside venue Plages des Palmes. Later that evening, the venue will play host to the official Cannes Next opening party presented by Film Soho.

Writers Guild of America is settling in for a strike that could last weeks if not months. Paramount Television Studios is taking a new stab at a Galaxy Quest TV series based on DreamWorks’ cult 1999 sci-fi comedy movie. The project, which is in early stages of development, is set up at Paramount+. It is executive produced by the film’s producer Mark Johnson via his Gran Via Productions. There is no concept or a writer yet. Reps for Paramount+ and Paramount TV Studios declined comment.

Directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Noah Hawley developed “Star Trek 4” scripts that never got off the ground. “WandaVision” director Matt Shakman was the most recent filmmaker attached to “Star Trek 4,” but he left the project to shoot Marvel’s “Fantastic Four” reboot instead. Paramount announced last September it was removing “Star Trek 4” from its release calendar. As part of Chris Pine’s new Esquire cover story, franchise producer J.J. Abrams said the “Star Trek 4″ script is in a good place. “I will say it’s the first time [since the original reboot] that we have a story that feels as compelling as the first one,” he added. But even still, Pine is out of the loop.
