The first wave of shorts included directors Ang Lee, Wong Kar-wai, and Alejandro González Iñárritu, and BMW has periodically resurrected the series, including bringing back Clive Owen to reprise his BMW Films character in 2016 for a film directed by Neill Blomkamp.

As the release date for “Extraction 2” gets closer, Netflix has unveiled a brand new trailer for the action sequel.

The action is heating up again for Tyler Rake.

A new teaser trailer for Extraction 2, the sequel to Netflix’s action hit, answers at least one big question for fans of the original: Chris Hemsworth’s mercenary Tyler Rake is alive and well and ready for another black ops mission.

There’s no denying Chris Hemsworth is one of the biggest stars in the world. However, when you take away his work as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his filmography has quite a few misses.

“Extraction 2,” the sequel to the hit 2020 Netflix actioner that ended with Hemsworth’s mercenary left for dead.Sam Hargrave returns to direct “Extraction 2,” which finds Rake tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held. Indeed, the sequel trades the sweaty Bangladesh landscape of the first film for snowy Georgia.The teaser offers up a bit on how Rake survived the end of “Extraction,” but the bulk of the footage is a long shot in which Rake fights his way through a barrage of baddies.When released in 2020, “Extraction” quickly became one of the most-watched Netflix original films ever, and the streamer quickly greenlit a sequel.Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO produces “Extraction 2” and Joe Russo wrote the script.

Jordan Moreau After being presumed dead at the end of Netflix’s first “Extraction” film, Chris Hemsworth is back (surprise!) as black ops mercenary Tyler Rake for another high-octane mission. In the first trailer for “Extraction 2,” Hemsworth’s Rake is revealed to be alive, and he’s wasting no time getting back to action. He brutally beats people down with a riot shield in what appears to be a prison break, uses the shield to deflect a fiery molotov cocktail, then proceeds to punch rioters with his burning fist. Director Sam Hargrave returns for the sequel, as do producers Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously teamed with Hemsworth on “Avengers: Endgame.” After making his directorial debut with the first “Extraction,” the follow-up is Hargrave’s second film. He previously worked as a stunt coordinator with the Russos on “Avengers: Endgame,” “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Captain America: Civil War.”

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Apple has given a series order to the drama “The Last Frontier” with Jason Clarke set to play the lead role, Variety has learned. The series hails from creators Jon Bokenkamp, who previously created the hit NBC series “The Blacklist,” and Richard D’Ovidio, who previously worked with Bokenkamp on the 2013 film “The Call” as well as on “The Blacklist” and “The Blacklist: Redemption.” In the 10-episode series, Clarke will star as US Marshal Frank Remnick, the lone Marshal in the barrens of Alaska. Per the official logline, “Frank’ s jurisdiction is turned upside-down when a prison transport plane crashes in the remote wilderness, setting free dozens of violent inmates. Tasked with protecting the town he’s vowed to keep safe, he begins to suspect the crash wasn’t an accident, but the first step of a well-crafted plan with international political implications.”

Apple Studios has greenlit the new original drama series The Last Frontier from Jon Bokenkamp (The Blacklist) and Richard D’Ovidio (The Call) with Jason Clarke (Winning Time, Zero Dark Thirty ) set to lead.
