A former Coronation Street star, who was a fan favourite on the ITV soap, has now landed a huge movie role, two years after officially leaving the Corrie cobbles. The actress joined the cobbles in 2019 as Alina Pop and her character was part of several dramatic storylines during the two years she featured in the show, including her character having a fling with iconic character Tyrone Dobbs, played by Alan Halsall.

Coronation Street ’s Jennie McAlpine has expressed her hopes for her character Fiz Brown, and her ex Tyrone Dobbs (played by Alan Halsall) this festive season. Earlier this year, Fiz and Tyrone broke up after he had an affair with Alina Pop, played by Ruxandra Porojnicu.

Coronation Street fans have already predicted a future return storyline for Alina Pop as she made her exit on Thursday's episode after Ruxandra Porojnicu confirmed she would be leaving the ITV soap. On Wednesday's instalment, Alina decided to leave Weatherfield after discovering that Tyrone Dobbs had lied to her and even kissed his ex Fiz Stape.
