DC co-Chairmen and CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have been making decisions and announcements about their biggest stars in the past few months.

A star-studded spectacle unfolded in Los Angeles on Saturday night as Adele, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Pattinson, and more attended the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Denver Nuggets.

Why the wait? “I wasn’t putting it off,” he says. “I just didn’t think anybody would ever give me money to do it.” Through his longtime collaborator and “Sweet” producer Alex Ross Perry’s agency connections, they enlisted stars like Jacob Elordi and Talia Ryder to secure financing. His adventure comedy follows a South Carolina high school senior (Ryder) who breaks away from a class trip to start her own journey. “She guides us through different scenarios that illustrate idealogues in contemporary America,” he says. “They’re representations of current beliefs and situations.” The lineup includes Elordi as a Robert Pattinson-type star trying his hand at an indie film and Simon Rex as a white supremacist college professor.

Tatiana Siegel Dior is doubling down on its relationship with Johnny Depp. The French luxury fashion house and cosmetics giant, which stood by the star even when he faced choppy PR waters amid his legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard, has signed Depp to a massive deal, marking the biggest men’s fragrance pact ever. Sources peg the three-year deal at upwards of $20 million, which eclipses Robert Pattinson’s $12 million deal to serve as a spokesperson for Dior Homme and Brad Pitt’s $7 million pact to promote Chanel No. 5. A source familiar with the fragrance industry says most A-listers with fragrance deals pull in around $2 million-$4 million per year like Chris Pine, whose deal with Armani is valued at $4 million a year over 3 years.

I don’t,” Fanning said, while also acknowledging that joining the likes of Marvel, “Star Wars” or DC “does something” for other actors’ careers. “But you also don’t know if they’re going to work sometimes, which is scary,” she added.

“Superman: Legacy” last week, just days before the writers’ strike, TheWrap has exclusively learned.Gunn is in the midst of casting the DCU reboot, which is not expected to be affected by the WGA strike since the superhero film is eyeing a Q1 2024 production start. He wrote the script and will direct the film, which will introduce a new Superman to kick off a new era of the DC universe.Pre-production kicked off last month, with costumes, production design “and more” now “up and running,” according to Gunn, and he’s in the midst of casting as he targets a February 2024 start date.“Superman: Legacy” is slated for release on July 11, 2025, and will tell the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.

“Don’t Look Up” writer/director/producer Adam McKay has inked a deal to bring his upcoming film “Average Height, Average Build” to Netflix.The comedy will star Robert Pattinson, Amy Adams and Robert Downey Jr. McKay will also write and produce the film, Netflix confirmed to TheWrap Sunday.As expected with any McKay film, the cast of “Average Height, Average Build” is star-stacked.

Kim Murphy Adam McKay is partnering with Netflix again for his follow-up to “Don’t Look Up.” The streamer has acquired the director’s next feature comedy, titled “Average Height, Average Build,” which will star Robert Pattinson as a serial killer that looks to leverage American politicians to make murder easier. Amy Adams will star alongside Pattinson. She reunites with McKay after earning an Oscar nomination in best supporting actress for her turn as Lynne Cheney in their 2018 comedy “Vice.” The ensemble also includes Robert Downey Jr., Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler. Along with writing and directing, McKay will produce under his Hyperobject Industries banner with Kevin Messick. The film does not yet have an official release date.

Nicholas Hoult missed out on three big roles in a row, and the first was a chance to play the caped crusader himself in The Batman.

In a new interview with GQ España, the actor stressed that he is “happy” with his career despite these “disappointments.” Hoult also went into a bit more detail about the experience of losing the title role in “The Batman” to Robert Pattinson. “Of course,” Hoult said when asked if he would’ve liked to play Bruce Wayne/Batman. “I’m sure if you ask most people, they’ll tell you they’d want to portray that role. I think Matt Reeves’ ideas were fantastic and he made a brilliant movie. And I also think that Rob [Robert Pattinson] did an amazing job with the character and I loved seeing him in it. So I don’t think I would have done as good a job as him ultimately. I don’t think I could have fit as well into the world that Matt created as Rob did.”

Set in a post-apocalyptic future, the film tells of a farm girl on an epic quest to recover a cherished family heirloom. Colin Farrell has been lapping up the New York sunshine on the set of The Penguin. An eight-episode spin-off from last year's DC blockbuster The Batman, which unleashed Robert Pattinson's brooding Dark Knight for the very first time, this story takes place exactly one week after its events and charts the rise of Farrell's disfigured brute Oswald Cobblepot through Gotham City's criminal underbelly. Distancing himself from Danny DeVito's grotesque Batman Returns incarnation, the 46 year old Irishman opted for a more Tony Soprano-esque approach, which is there for all to see in new pictures.
