BreAnna Bell A “Cruel Intentions” TV adaptation has been ordered at Amazon, Variety has confirmed. Sources say Amazon has placed an eight-episode series order for a TV adaptation of the film which will likely be released through Freevee, Amazon’s free streaming service. Though it could potentially move to Prime Video. Amazon declined Variety’s request for comment. The TV adaptation is a long time coming for the 1999 cult classic. As Variety previously reported, a TV show based on the film (which is based on the classic novel, “Dangerous Liasons”) was set at IMDB TV with Amazon Studios producing alongside Sony Pictures Television in 2021.

While it’s early for a renewal decision, I hear the streamer is happy with the first season, and a writing room is starting soon in anticipation of a Season 2 pickup. It will be led by executive producer Michele Fazekas, who I hear will serve as sole showrunner.

Prime Video has released a very bloody look at it’s upcoming college-set The Boys spinoff, Gen V.

Rosemarie DeWitt (The Staircase), Rob Benedict (Supernatural), and Elliot Knight (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II) have joined the Season 4 cast of Amazon’s The Boys. DeWitt will play Hughie’s (Jack Quaid) mom opposite returning series star Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) who plays Hughie’s dad.

Amazon has released the first photos of new supes Sister Sage, played by Susan Heyward, and Firecracker, portrayed by Valorie Curry, in the upcoming fourth season of The Boys.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Vought International has two new hires to boast about: Supes Firecracker and Sister Sage made their epic debut Monday in two first-look photos from “The Boys” Season 4 revealed by Amazon’s Prime Video. In the photos, which you can view at the bottom of this post, you’ll see Susan Heyward suit up as Sister Sage and Valorie Curry rocking her Firecracker costume. Both of the supersuits were designed by Laura Jean Shannon, “The Boys” costume designer who styled Jensen Ackles’ fan-favorite Soldier Boy look for Season 3. Fans will want to pick the details of these costumes apart as much as possible, because Amazon says that everything else about the Firecracker and Sister Sage characters “will be kept under wraps until the season airs.” While we don’t know when that will be just yet, we do know “The Boys” Season 4 is currently in production in Toronto — so stay tuned.

Stine book series of the same name. Variety exclusively reported the show had been ordered at Disney+ back in February. Per the official logline, “The series follows a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together — thanks to and in spite of their friendships, rivalries and pasts with each other — in order to save it, learning much about their own parents’ teenage secrets in the process.” According to Disney Branded Television, the series is influenced by five of the most popular “Goosebumps” books.

It’s a “Supernatural” reunion! Jeffrey Dean Morgan is joining the cast of “The Boys.”The actor will join Season 4 of the Amazon Prime Video series as a recurring guest star. Details about Morgan’s character are being kept under wraps.Morgan has a long history with “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke and star Jensen Ackles.

Disney+ has picked up Goosebumps, a live-action series based on R.L. Stine’s bestselling books. The new version, which has been in development since April 2020, hails from Scholastic Entertainment, the media division of Scholastic, Neal H. Moritz, producer of the Goosebumps and Goosebumps 2 films, and Sony Pictures TV. The news, which had been previously announced, was part of Disney Branded Television’s TCA presentation Monday.
