A Quiet Place Part III is officially in the works.The actor and filmmaker, who directed the first two films, announced during Paramount’s investor day yesterday (February 15) that a third film is currently eyeing a 2025 release, according to the Hollywood Reporter.The first film, Krasinski’s feature debut as a writer-director, was released in 2018 and launched a franchise which will now see a spinoff project helmed by Pig director Michael Sarnoski reach screens in 2023.A single-player horror game based on the idea of the first film is also due for release this year, courtesy of  iLLOGIKA, a studio based in Montreal comprised of developers with credits on Ubisoft titles Rainbow Six and Far Cry. The game is set to be published by Saber Interactive later this year.No director or writer has been announced yet for A Quiet Place Part III.

During its annual investor day presentation on Tuesday, the studio announced plans for “A Quiet Place 3,” as well as another sequel to “Sonic the Hedgehog.”“A Quiet Place Part III” will debut in 2025.

Selome Hailu Film Independent has named the winners of three unrestricted $25,000 Spirit Awards cash grants for emerging filmmakers: Alex Camilleri, Lizzie Shapiro and Jessica Beshir. The announcements were made by Ekwa Msangi (“Farewell Amor”), Gerry Kim (“I’m No Longer Here”) and Elegance Bratton (“Pier Kids”), who received the grants last year.Camilleri, director of “Luzzu,” received the Someone to Watch Award. The award is in its 28th year and recognizes talented filmmakers of singular vision who have not yet received appropriate recognition.

Jamie Lang This year’s 74th Edinburgh International Film Festival will host the European premiere of Nicolas Cage’s latest flick “Pig,” the debut directorial feature from award-winning editor Michael Sarnoski (“The Testimony”). Edinburgh Festival and Cage have a long and amicable relationship.

Although actor Nicolas Cage has made dozens of movies over the past few years, it’s been nearly a decade since he appeared in anything that might reasonably be referred to as “mainstream.” In the intervening period, he’s become more meme than man, with his image morphing into a kind of cultural shorthand for eccentricity.

George Clooney before him — whose real-life hog apparently came between him and his former girlfriends — Nicolas Cage really, really loves his pig. In the movie “Pig,” the 57-year-old actor whose career has taken a turn for the weird, plays a shaggy, grizzled truffle farmer named Rob in the Pacific Northwest who has a deep affection for his prized swine.But don’t worry.
