Details were announced Thursday at the TCA Summer Press Tour.Poking fun at the TV industry’s growing inclination to reboot hit shows from the past, the series centers on an early 2000s family sitcom that is rebooted by Hulu, forcing its dysfunctional cast back together.Key stars as Reed Sterling, a fussy actor on the fictitious family multi-cam sitcom “Step Right Up,” who graduated from the Yale school of drama and resents the show for ruining his career. Knoxville will play Clay Barber, a dark and filthy standup comedian who’s only real acting job was on the same bright and sunny sitcom. Greer stars as Bree Marie Larson, a small-town pageant girl who always dreamed of being an actress and a princess and both somehow came true. In addition, Rachel Bloom stars as the sitcom writer with a fresh take, Hannah; Calum Worthy plays Zack, the hyphenate movie star/hip-hop artist; and Krista Marie Yu plays a tech exec turned television creative exec, Elaine.

In the teaser for Reboot — Steve Levitan’s upcoming show-within-a-show comedy for Hulu — a writer character played by Paul Reiser is surprised to see how many persons of color populate the writers room for a rebooted sitcom. Among other things he questions is whether there are any “Eskimos” on staff.

In the nearly two-minute long clip, the 65-year-old transforms into the famous woodcarver with gray hair, a mustache, and small-framed glasses.

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has unveiled a new mockumentary about the making of Cliff Beasts 6: Battle for Everest: Memories of a Requiem, the movie at the center of Judd Apatow’s recently-released comedy, The Bubble.

“The Bubble.” The film came about during the pandemic, and tells the story of a group of actors and filmmakers making a franchise blockbuster sequel in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.In a situation not dissimilar from the one under which films like “Jurassic World: Dominion” were made, “The Bubble” chronicles the increasingly frayed nerves of the cast and crew as they’re forced to quarantine in a hotel for the duration of the shoot.Karen Gillan leads the cast as an actress from the fictional “Cliff Beasts” franchise who reluctantly returns for the sixth installment of the series. She’s joined by the likes of Pedro Pascal, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann, David Duchovny, Vir Das and Iris Apatow playing her fellow castmates, while Fred Armisen plays an indie director in over his head on his first franchise film.“Judd’s process is unlike anybody I’ve ever worked with, and I think it’s unlike anybody in the industry,” Key says in the behind-the-scenes video above.
