The Walkmen made good on their promise last night (October 17) when they washed fans’ cars before their final show in Brooklyn.The American indie veterans first teased fans with the prospect earlier this year, when they announced the final show of their reunion tour back in July, and told fans that the first 500 to buy tickets would be entered into a draw to have their car washed by the band.“We are not sure on all the details yet, but there is no way this isn’t a great idea,” they wrote at the time.Originally the carwash was scheduled to take place last Friday (October 13), however, this was soon shifted to the morning of the Brooklyn gig, just hours before the members took to the stage at Kings Theater.Kicking off at 10am, Hamilton Leithauser, Walter Martin, Peter Bauer, and Paul Maroon were all present with their buckets, sponges and even matching jumpsuits.

The National frontman Matt Berninger has revealed to NME details of a sitcom he’s been working with brother Tom, titled Dos Apes.The long-mooted project was first teased back in 2020, when the Matt Berninger told NME that he was working on a sequel acclaimed film Mistaken For Strangers, as well as a TV show. Released in 2013, Mistaken For Strangers followed Berninger’s brother Tom as he joined the band on the road and attempted to document their journey while also failing in his role as tour manager.

The Walkmen have announced that they will be celebrating the end of their tour by washing cars outside the venue of their final tour date.The NYC indie heroes have added a handful of new tour dates with their final show taking place in Brooklyn, New York at Kings Theatre on October 17. Taking to their official Twitter page, the band shared that they will be washing 100 cars outside of the venue.According to a video posted to their Twitter account, the first 500 ticket buyers will be placed in a raffle and 100 winners will have their cars washed by all five members of The Walkmen.but there is no way this isn’t a great idea.
