Kanye West, Chance the Rapper, and Kirk Franklin held a Sunday Service gospel performance last night. During his segment, West paid tribute to the late Kobe Bryant, singing, “I was driving home/They was leaving your jersey on the freeway, and I just broke down, broke down, broke down.” In addition, Chance rapped his verse from “Ultralight Beam.” Watch footage (captured via Kim Kardashian West’s Instagram Stories) below.

Kanye West, 42, gathered friends and family on January 26 for a special Sunday Service to honor Kobe Bryant, just hours after the 41-year-old NBA legend and his teenage daughter died in a helicopter crash. Along with Chance the Rapper and Kirk Franklin, Kanye eulogized his fallen friend with emotional speeches, songs, and moments of prayer.

Kanye West was a noted Kobe Bryant fan. The duo connected on multiple occasions, and Ye was even in the building for Kobe's last game ever back in 2016. With society in mourning following Bryant and his daughter's shocking deaths, West hosted a post-Grammys Sunday Service at midnight in Burbank Calif. early Monday (Jan. 27) to begin the healing process.

John Legend orchestrated a star-studded tribute to Nipsey Hussle at the Grammy Awards.

Kirk Franklin,DJ Khaled,John Legend,Meek Mill,Roddy RicchandYG came together to posthumously honor Nipsey Hussle at the 62ndGrammy Awards on Sunday.Hussle was killed outside of his South Los Angeles clothing store in March 2019. The musician was shot multiple times and was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

John Legend, YG and DJ Khaled performed a medley of songs alongside Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch and Kirk Franklin as part of the Grammy Awards tribute to Nipsey Hussle.

Nipsey Hussle, posthumously nominated for three awards at the 2020 Grammys, was the subject of a touching tribute performance at the 2020 Grammys. John Legend, DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch, YG, and Kirk Franklin performed in honor of the fallen rapper, who was killed last year in California.

Tonight at the 2020 Grammys, Meek Mill, DJ Khaled, John Legend, YG, Roddy Ricch, and Kirk Franklin all took to the stage for a tribute to the late rapper Nipsey Hussle. The performance opened with Meek and Roddy before transitioning into “Higher,” DJ Khaled’s song with Nipsey and John Legend. YG, donning all red, appeared on stage to perform afterwards.

The late Nipsey Hussle will be honored at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards with a heavy performance, the Recording Academy announced on Tuesday (Jan. 21). The tribute set for next Sunday (Jan. 26) will feature appearances from Kirk Franklin, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch and YG.

The 2020 Grammys will include a tribute to the late L.A. rapper Nipsey Hussle. The tribute performance will feature Kirk Franklin, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch, and frequent collaborator and YG.
