Nick Cave, Lana Del Rey, Matty Healy and more have recorded covers of World War II-era songs for the official soundtrack to The New Look.Due to premiere on Apple TV+ on February 14, the series follows Christian Dior, Coco Chanel and the fashion industry in Paris during the Second World War. It stars Maisie Williams, John Malkovich, Juliette Binoche, Ben Mendelsohn and Emily Mortimer.According to Deadline, The New Look will boast an “immersive and contemporary soundtrack” produced by Jack Antonoff who has previously worked with Del Rey, Healy’s band The 1975, and Taylor Swift.It’ll also feature new versions of early to mid-20th-century tracks recorded by Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine, Beabadoobee, Perfume Genius and Antonoff’s band Bleachers.A tracklist for the collection has not yet been revealed.

Apple TV+ has released some of the first images from The New Look, a World War II-set drama about fashion icons Christian Dior and Coco Chanel starring Emmy winner Ben Mendelsohn and Oscar winner Juliette Binoche. The anticipated series from Todd A. Kessler will debut globally with the first three episodes on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 on Apple TV+, followed by one episode every Wednesday through April 3.

How’s this for a buzzy cast list? Deadline reports that Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich will star in “Opus,” an upcoming horror film from A24. The movie marks the feature debut of writer-director Mark Anthony Green, and he’s culled quite the ensemble for his first film.

Also joining the cast is Ben Schnetzer (“The Book Thief”), who has replaced Rupert Friend after scheduling difficulties meant Friend had to drop out of the project. Schnetzer will play a young version of Celebidachi while Malkovich will play the composer later in life. They will be joined by Kate Phillips (“Downton Abbey”), Anton Lesser (“Game of Thrones”) and Charlie Rowe (“Rocketman”). “The Yellow Tie” tells the story of controversial classical conductor Sergiu Celibidache, one of Romania’s best known classical music artists. He battled homelessness and prejudice before becoming the youngest ever conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

EXCLUSIVE: Ben Schnetzer has signed on to star as famed Romanian conductor Sergiu Celibidache in The Yellow Tie replacing Rupert Friend. Schnetzer will have a central role in the feature, playing the young Celibidache with John Malkovich set to play an older version of the conductor.

Russell Crowe will receive the Crystal Globe Award for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema at the 2023 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, KVIFF organizers announced on Friday. And unlike past recipients of the Crystal Globe like Michael Caine, Julianne Moore, Mel Gibson, Judi Dench and Robert De Niro, Crowe will also perform on the festival’s opening night with his rock band, Indoor Garden Party.The festival, which takes place in a spa town outside Prague in the Czech Republic, will present Crowe with the award on its opening night, June 30.
