Audiences will soon watch 71-year-old Gerry Turner embark on his journey toward a second chance at love in ABC’s new series The Golden Bachelor.

The countdown is on for the premiere of The Golden Bachelor — ABC’s senior spinoff, which will set out to help 71-year-old Gerry Turner find a partner to share “the sunset years of life” — and Bachelor and Bachelorette alums are here for the new addition to the franchise.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Food Network has renewed its latest “Baking Championship” spinoff, “Summer Baking Championship, for a second season. “Summer Baking Championship” features 10 talented bakers from around the country competing in unique summer-themed baking challenges featuring the flavors, ingredients and celebrations of the season for a chance to earn the title of Summer Baking Champion and win $25,000, per the cable channel’s official description for the competition series. The show is hosted by Jesse Palmer, with Duff Goldman, Carla Hall and Damaris Phillips serving as judges.

McKinley Franklin editor Max has revealed the rollout plans for its four original documentary specials narrated by Morgan Freeman in honor of Warner Bros.’ 100th anniversary.  The first two specials will make their debut at Cannes on May 24 as 2023 Official Cannes Classics Selections, followed by a May 25 debut on Max. The remaining two specials will be available to stream on Max on June 1.  The “100 Years of Warner Bros.” docuseries pays homage to the output of Warner Bros. over the past century. Featuring interviews with directors, actors, executives, journalists and historians, the specials highlight everything from the studios’ early beginnings to its presence in the modern day. 

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Disney’s annual upfront presentation leaned heavily on the company’s non-scripted programming, opening with nearly an hour of focus on ESPN and its sports offerings. The emphasis on live events, of course, comes as the writers strike continues and is expected to impact the fall TV season. In fact, around 100 Writers Guild members and other union supporters marched outside the Javits Center on Tuesday to remind Disney they are still looking for a deal with the company and the other studios. Among those seen on the picket line: Zach Cherry and Michael Emerson. Inside the Javits, sports and news stars from within Disney were out in force, while reality personalities like Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Jesse Palmer and Ryan Seacrest made appearances as well. Even WABC-TV New York anchors Sade Baderinwa and Bill Ritter got some time onstage.

On Monday night's episode of , the tech executive traveled to Thailand with his final three women, with the intention that he would not have sex with any of them in the Fantasy Suite.«This is the only thing that feels right and comfortable for me. It can really muddy the situation,» Zach explained to host Jesse Palmer.

With a 2.39 rating, the January Season 27 premiere measures as the series’ highest-rated multiplatform telecast in 1 year among the adults 18-49 key demo. That’s its highest rating since Jan. 24, 2022 according to data from Nielsen. Additionally, “The Bachelor” premiere outperformed the show’s prior season average by 3% among the demographic. After 35 days of viewing across linear and digital platforms, Season 27’s opening episode showed a 268% increase among adults 18-49 over its initial Live+Same Day rating of 0.65 rating, marking the show’s biggest-ever delayed-viewing increase. The season premiere also managed to rake in an additional 3.6 million total viewers after 35 days of multiplatform viewing taking the original number from 3.0 million to 6.6 million.

Zach Shallcross sat down with his Bachelor season 27 contestants for the Women Tell All, but the biggest takeaways happened before — and after — the lead was on the stage.

Why? Because now she’s the star of her own show. Lawson has been cast as ABC’s newest leading lady for “The Bachelorette” Season 20, which will air this summer. The announcement was made on Tuesday night’s episode of “The Bachelor: Women Tell All” where host Jesse Palmer surprised Lawson with the news. “Women Tell All” taped on the Warner Bros. lot on February 24th, and when Lawson’s “Bachelorette” announcement was made, the set was cleared so members of the media who were present were not made privy to the news. Variety was at the taping of “Women Tell All,” and the scene with Lawson was the last piece filmed that day. It’s typical for “The Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” casting news to leak, so the franchise pulled off a rare feat with no leaks of Lawson’s big news.

Charity Lawson is getting another chance to find love. The 27-year-old from Columbus, Georgia, has been chosen to lead Season 20 of ABC‘s The Bachelorette.

Jesse Palmer isn't sugarcoating  franchise's past. In an interview with ET, the host admitted that the show has «done a bad job in the past of addressing series topics and issues.»The acknowledgment comes after a series of racism controversies from the franchise, most recently when the show failed to discuss contestant Erich Schwer's Blackface scandal during the season finale of .When faced with a similar scandal this season — contestant Greer Blitzer defended someone wearing Blackface — Jesse told ET that «we weren't going to miss that opportunity» to discuss the situation during the «Women Tell All» episode.«We knew it was important to have this conversation with Greer and give her space and a place to speak on it, and Greer really wanted to do that as well,» Jesse explained.

Zach Shallcross' way on . On Monday night's episode of the ABC series, Zach said goodbye to Greer after they lost two weeks together, first from his COVID diagnosis and then from hers. While Greer told Zach that she'd be «more than happy» to introduce him to her family during Hometowns, he admitted that, given the time lost, he didn't feel «100 percent confident» in doing so.
