For the first time in history, three of the 10 movies nominated for best picture — Justine Triet’s “Anatomy of a Fall,” Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and Celine Song’s “Past Lives” — were directed by a female auteur, the most recognized in the Academy Awards’ 96-year history. The other best picture nominees are: “American Fiction,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Maestro,” “Oppehneimer,” “The Holdovers,” “Poor Things,” and “The Zone of Interest.” Before this year’s best picture nominees, 591 movies were nominated by the Academy.

Saturday Night Live (SNL) have spoofed rapper Xzibit‘s hit MTV series Pimp My Ride – watch their skit below.The skit, which can be seen below, did not air during the Elordi-hosted episode as it was cut for time constraints. However, the full skit has now been shared by the official SNL channel on YouTube.In the clip, Elordi plays a janitor named Sergei, who works in the SNL writers’ office.

Saltburn star Barry Keoghan has opened up about the time he had an “insane” audition with director Steven Spielberg.The actor, who is currently on screens in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn, recalled his audition for Spielberg’s 2018 sci-fi film, Ready Player One.Keoghan told GQ: “I remember doing the screen test, and he had a little camcorder in his hand, and I was like, ‘This is insane. Steven Spielberg is filming me doing a scene, on a camcorder.’”While he didn’t get the part, he went on to tell the interviewer he’d love to work with Spielberg in the future.Keoghan has explained how he had some reservations about filming the final scene in Saltburn recently.

Nominations for the EE British Academy Film Awards will be unveiled Thursday in London via a livestream that begins at 12 pm GMT/4 AM PST.
