Despite its current state of musicality being — in his words, “goofy” — Ice-T is the soul of rap’s rough potency. To wit: his appearance on the Feb. 5 Grammy Awards in a star-studded tribute to hip-hop in honor of the genre’s 50th anniversary.

The network is developing Teng’s military drama Eagle Eye with FBI co-creator Craig Turk, and crime drama Mastermind from Sallie Patrick (Dynasty), Nina Tassler and Denise Di Novi’s PatMa Productions and CJ Entertainment’s K-drama producer and distributor Studio Dragon (Netflix’s Crash Landing on You). CBS Studios, where Teng is under an overall deal, is the studio for both projects, executive produced and to be directed by Teng.

Saying goodbye. Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas announced he is exiting the NBC series and Wolf Entertainment after ten years.

Derek Haas, co-creator of NBC’s Chicago Fire and who also helped develop Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med, is stepping away from the One Chicago Franchise and Wolf Entertainment, Deadline has confirmed. He will exit next year when the current TV season concludes.

Emily Longeretta “Chicago Med” is losing another doctor. Brian Tee, who portrays Dr. Ethan Choi, will exit the Dick Wolf series after eight seasons on the show, Variety confirms. His last episode will be episode 9, “Could Be The Start Of Something New,” airing December 7. Additionally, Tee will return for episode 16 to make his directorial debut. Tee has starred on the NBC medical drama since the series’ 2015 debut. While he has appeared in 131 episodes, he was absent for much of the seventh season as he filmed “Expats,” an upcoming series for Amazon Prime Video. In the Season 8 premiere, Ethan is dealing with the death of his father when he reunites with his ex April (Yaya DaCosta), who left the show at the end of Season 6.

David Graziano, who took over as showrunner from Warren Leight, was also a big fan of the “Rollisi” pairing, he told TheWrap before the season premiere. In August, when the news of her departure first broke, Giddish said in a statement, “Playing Rollins has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life.

Mark your calendars, Amanda Rollins fans: Kelli Giddish, who plays the beloved detective on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, will leave the show on December 8.

Emily Longeretta Kelli Giddish’s “Law & Order: SVU” exit is coming soon. The actor’s last appearance will be on Dec. 8, Variety confirms. Additionally, she will make a guest appearance on spinoff “Law & Order: Organized Crime” later this season. Giddish joined the Dick Wolf series in 2011, starring alongside Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T and Peter Scanavino. Her character, Amanda Rollins, entered a romantic relationship with Scanavino’s Carisi at the end of last season. In the Season 24 premiere, Rollins was shot saving a young girl. She ultimately survived and was forced to attend therapy.

After another hour of shutting out his wife and partner, Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), Jay finally realized that he had changed — and not for the better. During a case that involved saving the reputation of an Army vet who had assisted in a robbery, Jay went around the law (once again) to take down the robbers. He didn’t turn in the vet, who ultimately died saving another woman, in order to protect the man’s family and reputation. However, knowing that he’d broken the law once again — and stabbed a man in the process — Jay chose to resign from Intelligence.

Selome Hailu NBC’s three-hour “Law & Order” crossover premiere event was the most-watched and highest-rated program the night that it aired, according to Live + 3 data exclusively obtained by Variety. Airing from 8-11 p.m. on Sept 22, the crossover marked the premiere of Season 22 of the “Law & Order” flagship series, Season 24 of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and Season 3 of “Law & Order: Organized Crime.” When accounting for three days of viewing, each of the three season premieres matched or exceeded the average rating and total viewership of the last four episodes of their previous seasons, respectively. “Law & Order,” which concluded the crossover at 10 p.m., landed a 1.0 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic and 6.8 million total viewers through three days of measurement — the best performance of a “Law & Order” episode since Season 21 debuted in February. Compared to Episodes 7-10 of “Law & Order” Season 21, the series’ four previous episodes, this marks a 36% increase in rating and a 20% increase in total viewership.

Amorosi Ever since its 2012 start, no matter how attractive its actors, there is only one person who truly puts the heat, smoke and flames to “Chicago Fire”: special effects coordinator and pyrotechnic John Milinac. Fire may be the star of Dick Wolf’s red-hot series, but Milinac is its master. For ten seasons, Milinac has pitted Chicago’s imaginary firefighters and paramedics against raging flames, quickly enveloping smoke and crumbling properties, as well as exploding cars, runaway trucks, un-moored electrical wires and more than a few slippery roofs. Working on this season’s seventh episode when speaking to Variety, Milinac and his 13-person team are prepping a “burn stage” and all of its elements so that it can be turn-key ready for filming on Tuesday morning. “That’s a lot of push, especially after we just wrapped an exterior fire that was condensed — which means things are overlapping — and next, we have some carnage with a handful of vehicles, which means we’re going to have some pre-damage to do in advance.”
