Based on the beloved Sega games of the same name, the show hails from co-creators Mike McMahan and Joe Chandler. Matthew Rhys (“The Americans,” “Perry Mason”), Danny Pudi (“Community,” “Mythic Quest”), Lisa Gilroy (“Jury Duty,” “Interior Chinatown”), Liam McIntyre (“Spartacus,” “The Flash”), and Carl Tart (“Grand Crew,” “Star Trek: Lower Decks”) will lead the voice cast.

Randall Park (“Always Be My Maybe,” “Fresh Off the Boat”), Yvette Nicole Brown (“Community,” “The Odd Couple”, Elijah Wood (“The Lords of the Rings” trilogy, “Wilford”), and Ashley Johnson (“The Last of Us,” “Blindspot”) will all lend their voices to the animated adaptation of the popular mobile game. Variety exclusively reported the series was in development back in June 2023.

Prime Video has set February 23 for the premiere of The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy (fka The Hospital), its adult animated sci-fi comedy from Cirocco Dunlap and Maya Rudolph, Danielle Renfrew Behrens and Natasha Lyonne‘s Animal Pictures. Additionally, Oscar nominee Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All At Once) has joined the cast as a series regular.

The studio, via CBS Eye Animation Productions, has partnered with Innersloth, the independent game studio behind “Among Us,” to develop the series. Owen Dennis will serve as creator and executive producer on the project under his overall deal with CBS Studios. Per the official logline, the series is based on the premise of the game, namely, “Members of your crew have been replaced by an alien shapeshifter intent on causing confusion, sabotaging the ship, and killing everyone. Root out the ‘Impostor’ or fall victim to its murderous designs.”

Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Kids+ has picked up “Angry Birds Mystery Island” to series from Eric Rogers (Futurama) and Titmouse. “We’re excited to work with Amazon to add a new chapter to the Hatchlings’ story in ‘Angry Birds Mystery Island,’” said Rovio’s head of Brand Licensing, Hanna Valkeapää-Nokkala. “I’m sure fans of the Hatchlings will be eager to see them in their own series, with speaking voices for the first time.” The 24-episode first season will follow three new hatchlings — Mia, Rosie, and Buddy — and a foreign-exchange piglet named Hamylton on their all-expenses-paid island getaway, where they find themselves mistakenly catapulted onto an uncharted island. McConaughey also will executive produce the series, which hails from Priscilla Presleyand John Eddie, Sony Pictures Animation, Authentic Brands Group and Titmouse.
