Charlie Simpson has revealed he chose his rhino costume on The Masked Singer as a nod to his wife’s childhood and family.The 37-year-old Busted star won ITV’s secretive singing competition on Saturday evening after he performed three songs including Lewis Capaldi’s Before You Go. Following his win, Simpson explained the story behind his cowboy-inspired rhino costume choice saying: “My wife grew up in Kenya so I spend a lot of time in Kenya, and we spend a lot of time on safari. “I actually walked with rhinos, and some of the rhinos, there’s only a handful of them left.They’re really endangered and they have to be guarded by military personnel now, so the poachers don’t get them and I actually got to go and walk around with them, with these guards, it was incredible – with some of the last few remaining (rhinos) on Earth.

Busted’s Charlie Simpson has explained how his son was rushed to hospital after suffering from “secondary drowning”.The musician shared details of the incident on his Instagram page earlier today (July 19), to help warn other families of the potentially fatal condition.His son Jago, four, had been swimming underwater in a swimming pool when he emerged “spluttering and coughing.” While he initially seemed to recover, Simpson said his son later started to vomit and become “lethargic”.Simpson said after speaking with a doctor, his son was initially diagnosed with food poisoning but later confirmed to have secondary drowning, caused by water in the lungs. Sharing a photo of Jago, four, in hospital, he told his 98,900 followers: "Hi all, I wanted to share a terrifying experience we had recently with my youngest son Jago, in the hope that if it helps just one person avoid a similar situation, it will be worth it."
