In a first-time first-person account of her life and career, legendary singer, actress, director and producer Barbra Streisand will publish her memoir, My Name is Barbra, on November 7, 2023 via Penguin Random House imprint Viking. The Penguin Group made it official on Tuesday, calling the tome “engrossing and delightful.” There have been dozens of books written about the now 80-year-old artist, but this will be the first to tell her story in her own words.

The Library of Congress has unveiled its annual list of 25 movies to make the cut for the National Film Registry. The selection, considered among America’s most influential motion pictures, features titles ranging from an 1898 documentary of the Mardi Gras Carnival parade in New Orleans to the 1950 Cyrano de Bergerac — which made José Ferrer the first Hispanic actor to win an Oscar for Best Actor — and more recent classics like Super Fly (1972), Carrie (1976), Hairspray (1988), The Little Mermaid (1989), When Harry Met Sally (1989), House Party (1990) and Iron Man (2008). Michaela Zee editor Ron Howard will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Directing at the 25th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival on Sunday, Oct. 23. No one gets tire-ironed on the side of the road. Judd Apatow produced the thing, so you know it’s funny. And yet, somehow, “Bros” doesn’t feel like that big a deal. Sure, it’s a well-budgeted, wide-release, R-rated gay romcom, and that’s historic (if you put enough qualifying adjectives in front of it). But one of those had to come along sooner or later. Oddly, it feels like there already have been others, and there’s no question more are coming, considering how hard Hollywood has been working to include gay characters.

Rebecca Balding, a veteran stage and screen actress who appeared on "Soap" and "Charmed," has died. She was 73. Balding’s husband, actor and director James L.

She was 73.Conway said Balding lost her battle with ovarian cancer in Park City, Utah.Born in 1948 in Little Rock, Arkansas, Balding got her start on stage in Chicago before heading to Hollywood, where she booked multiple TV spots, starting with a two-episode stint as a Russian spy in “The Bionic Woman.” But she is probably best known for her portrayal of attorney Carol David in 19 episodes of “Soap” from 1977 to 1981.
