A long-rumored Season 3 of Netflix’s Master of None finally came to fruition this year, with Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang’s comedy series returning to the streamer in May. It had been four years since Season 2, which followed the series’ Season 1 debut in 2015 that won writing Emmys for Ansari and co-star Lena Waithe.

It’s been a minute since audiences were treated to a new season of Netflix’s Emmy-winning Master of None created by Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang. Netflix said last month that it will finally debut a third season of the comedy May 23 — though it may not be something fans of the series would expect. In fact, it might go beyond expectations.

In one of the worst-kept secrets in TV, all the rumors are true—Netflix’s Emmy-winning comedy series, “Master of None,” is returning in May with a brand-new season, four years after the end of the previous. But even though we all knew this was happening, it appears that series creators Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang had some surprises up their sleeves.

Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang created Master of None in 2015 for a 10 episode season and the show garnered a cult status instantly. The show returned with a season 2 in 2017 and since that time fans have been waiting for a third scene.

Four years ago, in 2017, Netflix released Season 2 of “Master of None.” The second season was a bigger hit than before and earned numerous awards for its co-creators Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang, as well as writers such as Lena Waithe (who also acts in the show). Since then, the series has been stalled, mainly due to a ton of off-screen drama involving Ansari.

Maya Rudolph is set to star in a new series for Apple TV+.

Back in 2018, Maya Rudolph teamed up with producers Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard on the Amazon comedy series, “Forever.” The series didn’t necessarily cause a stir on Prime Video when it was released, but it did receive some solid reviews, with some calling it one of the funnier shows of the past couple of years. Now, the trio is teaming up yet again, but taking their wares to Apple.
