Workers have rushed back to a busy road near Bury after an embarrassing gaffe left motorists feeling confused.
A new sign was installed on Bolton Road North earlier today (January 24), near the border of Ramsbottom and Rossendale.
The sign was installed to direct drivers towards the roundabout for the A56 to Bury or Blackburn, and the A680 towards Rochdale.

But it left drivers scratching their heads after being installed facing the wrong direction.
Instead of giving drivers instructions on the northbound side of Bolton Road North towards the roundabout, it was actually put up outside Stubbins Primary School, heading away from the busy junction.
Workers soon returned to the scene to sort the sign out this afternoon - but not before dozens of people laughed at the gaffe on social media.
Simon Hartigan shared a photo of the sign in the What's On in Ramsbottom Facebook group, where one person hailed it ' even funnier than Clivegate ', when a shocked shopper paid over £30 for a leg of lamb in Tesco at the weekend and became the talk of the town.
One person replied: "Omg I saw this going up and was like what????"
Another said: "I saw this today and it’s confused me. Surely it’s the wrong way round?!"
A third wrote: "You couldn't make this up."
Simon told the Manchester Evening News that workers soon returned to the scene to correct their mistake, with the work taking place at around 3pm, which caused disruption for families when children left Stubbins Primary School for the end of the day.
