A man who was left seriously injured after an incident in a Scots town has died in hospital almost a week later, police have confirmed.

A woman has been arrested after a litter of Cockapoo puppies were allegedly stolen during a raid of a Scots home.
Eight of the nine-week-old pups were allegedly swiped from the property in Mayton in Kirriemuir, Angus, on Monday August 29. Alongside the animals, personal items were also allegedly stolen from the premises.
Ring doorbell footage of the alleged culprit and pictures of the aftermath of the raid have been shared with the Daily Record. Images show skirting boards torn from the walls while belongings have been pulled from the cupboards and thrown across the property.
Officers from Police Scotland confirmed the puppies have since been returned to their owner and are safe and well. A 32-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A report is due to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2pm on Monday, 29 August, 2022 we received a report that eight puppies and personal items had been stolen from a property in Maryton, Kirriemuir. The eight puppies have been recovered safe and well.
"A 32-year-old woman has been arrested in connection and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
