The UK is set to face its hottest ever August as the country once again finds itself plunged into an imminent “heat surge” as a result of rising temperatures. With some parts of the country, such as Norwich, expected to see temperatures hit 30 degrees on Sunday, several other cities along the Southern and East of the country have also seen temperatures creeping back up into the high 20s as the summer weather continues.
While this warmer weather is a welcome change for many, the balmy temperatures are now expected to skyrocket once again next month, with temperatures potentially running closer to the extreme heat we experienced last week. James Madden, a forecaster for Exacta Weather, explained that confidence for the return of another heatwave remained high, reports the Daily Star.
“Confidence is starting to build for another blast of very hot weather during the start of next month,” he said. He then continued: “There are signs of another heat surge at the weekend with temperatures, particularly across the south, lifting back into the 30Cs.
“Temperatures in parts of the north will also rise into the 20Cs, but generally it will be cooler across the region.” The Met Office is also keeping an eye on the rising temperatures, as it hinted that much hotter weather could soon be returning, however so far it has given no indication that we will be experiencing the same debilitating heat that brought the country to earlier this week. Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin said: “There are signs next week of temperatures starting to rise, but while we expect nothing like the temperatures we have just seen, there are suggestions temperatures could pick up to above average towards the back end of next week.” The news follows hot on
