An agreement for Tyson Fury to face Oleksandr Usyk is believed to have moved a step closer, as the pair are said to have agreed a 50:50 purse split for their unification bout. In addition, the fight will not take place before the end of this year, with a proposed bout taking place early next year.
Fury had an extremely favourable purse split for his most recent fight with Dillian Whyte, taking home the lion's share of an 80:20 split for the Wembley fight. However, for a unification fight against the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world, a more equitable split is expected.
This has been revealed by ESPN analyst Mark Kriegel, who has spoken to Fury's US promoter and one of the key protagonists in any potential deal, Bob Arum. Kriegel revealed: “It’s going to happen.

“How do I know this? What’s the source of contention in the lead-up to every big fight? The purse split. Is it 70-30, 60-40? This one is going to be 50-50. I spoke to Bob Arum today. He said that is a given. My other sources agree.
“So, we have one point of contention completely out of the way, or supposedly. That’s welcome news, proof to me the fight’s going to happen.”
Fury had made a variety of claims in the wake of his win against Whyte regarding his next move, saying that he would only come out of his supposed retirement for a £500 million deal before later suggesting that he would fight Anthony Joshua for free.
It has been reported that the fight is set to be held once more in Saudi Arabia, with Usyk having beaten Joshua in the middle-eastern country, They agreed to pay £65million to stage the fight, with Joshua taking home a reported £67million. This
