Three male youths have been taken to hospital after having an unknown substance thrown in their faces.
Police and paramedics attended Longsands Beach in Tynemouth at around 9.30pm on Friday night. Officers had been told that a large number youths were engaging in disorder, the ChronicleLive reports.
When officers arrived, they discovered three males had had an unknown substance thrown in their faces.

It was reported that one male suffered an injury to his eye after being kicked in the head and he had an unknown substance thrown in his face.
The disorder is understood to have occurred near to Crusoe's restaurant, which is located on the beach. All three males were taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) attended the scene after receiving a report of an alleged assault.
A spokesperson said: "We received several calls around 21.30 yesterday (16 JUNE) to reports of an alleged assault on Longsands in Tynemouth.
"We dispatched a paramedic ambulance, a clinical team leader and a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) crew. Three patients were treated and taken to hospital."
A Northumbria Police spokesperson added: "At 9.30pm on Friday, we received a report of a large number of youths engaging in disorder on Longsands Beach, Tynemouth.
"It was reported that one male suffered an injury to his eye after being kicked in the head and had an unknown substance thrown in his face and two other males had an unknown substance thrown in their faces.
"Officers attended and all three males were taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries."
