Sylvester Stallone is opening up about how he was almost a background extra in The Godfather.
The 76-year-old actor, who went on rise to fame in the Rocky film franchise, revealed to Empire magazine that he actually made an offer to director Francis Ford Coppola to appear in the film.

The scene in question that he asked to be part of was the wedding scene, where Sylvester would have appeared with Marlon Brando, James Caan, Al Pacino, and Talia Shire.
Talia would actually star as his love interest in the Rocky films.
“I went to Paramount, and said, ‘Can I be an extra in the wedding scene?,’” he recalled. “They said, ‘Yeah, we don’t know if you’re the type of guy.’ I go, ‘I’m not the type? To play in the background, hiding behind a f***ing wedding cake?’”
While he didn’t get a part in The Godfather, Sylvester will next star in another mob project – Taylor Sheridan‘s Tulsa King.
