Currently three points behind Newcastle in the standings, Wednesday night's encounter could prove to be season defining for both clubs. Sixth spot secures a Conference League spot, but the outcome of the FA Cup final could see the team that finishes sixth promoted to the Europa League.
As far as United are concerned, a sixth-place finish would guarantee them Europa League qualification for next term because their FA Cup final opponents, Manchester City, are assured of Champions League qualification. Whatever the outcome of the final, therefore, United would qualify for the Europa League.
However, on current form, you would be brave to back United to finish sixth. They have won just two of their last 11 Premier League games and have scored just one goal in their last three.
