Sunday Times Rich List reveals UK's top 20 wealthiest people

The latest list of Britain's top wealthiest people in 2024 has been revealed.
The Sunday Times' latest Rich List once again features Gopi Hinduja at the top for the third year in a row with his fortune increasing by more than £2 billion. However, not everyone was as fortunate as the number of billionaires has dipped for the second year in a row, going from 171 to 165.
Whereas in 2022, the number of billionaires in the country peaked at 177. Here are the 20 richest people and families in the UK, according to the Rich List:

The richest family in Britain amassed its wealth from the Mumbai-based conglomerate Hinduja Group, which operates across various business sectors including banking and finance, media and entertainment, and energy, employing about 200,000 staff globally.
The family's fortune is the largest ever documented on the list.
The second-wealthiest Briton is a Ukrainian-born business tycoon and philanthropist who accumulated his wealth in Russia.
He took Warner Music public in June 2020 after purchasing it in 2011.
The billionaire siblings earned their wealth through property and technology via their private equity and investment firm Reuben Brothers.
The brothers were born in Mumbai and brought up in the UK.
Manchester United part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is the founder and chairman of global chemicals company Ineos, could be compelled to sell his stake in the club by the Glazers next year. The Manchester-born businessman took control of football operations at the club after acquiring a minority stake in February this year.
However, he has slipped from second to fourth place in the wealth rankings after his fortune declined
