Liverpool hero Steven Gerrard has revealed which Manchester United player he wished he played alongside during his playing career, and given his verdict on the age-old Ronaldo versus Messi debate.
The Aston Villa manager has played with a number of world class players for both Liverpool and England over the years; Wayne Rooney, Luis Suarez and John Terry to name a few. Gerrard was a guest on Sky Sports' The Overlap when he was asked which current Premier League player he'd have liked to play alongside.
Naturally, he told host and United legend Gary Neville which of the Liverpool squad would fall under that category. “Mo Salah,” Gerrard predictably answered. He also name-checked Bruno Fernandes.

Meanwhile, Gerrard went on to name another outstanding midfielder who plays his football in Manchester. He said: “ Kevin De Bruyne for sure, 100 per cent. I think he’s one of the best in the world right now.”
The Manchester City playmaker has won three Premier League titles so far but has been unable to trump Gerrard in Champions League wins just yet. His first leg goal was enough to see his club past Atletico Madrid and through to the semi-finals of this year’s competition.
A final with Liverpool could potentially await. Meanwhile, after enjoying a good start with Aston Villa,
