‘Spider-Man’ Franchise Director Jon Watts Make Off-Market Deal in L.A.’s Brookside

Manchester City have signed 16-year-old goalkeeper Mikki van Sas for their academy. The teenager was under contract with the Dutch club until 2022 but the Blues have struck a deal to bring him to the Etihad Campus, where he is expected to link up with the youth teams in time for next season.

Sony is attempting the superhero film equivalent of “doing a lot with a little.” Instead of owning the film rights to a huge connected universe, like WB’s DCEU or Marvel Studios’ MCU, Sony has the “Spider-Man” film rights. And though the character is one of the most popular superheroes in comic book and film history, there’s no obvious way to spin it off into a whole connected universe.

Too much screen time: Parents agonize about it, and kids scream when it’s taken away. Now with schools shut down across the globe, many children are getting more time than ever with devices, whether as part of homeschooling via apps and classroom Zoom calls or simply because parents who are juggling too much during lockdown park their progeny in front of them.

British director S.J. Clarkson is all set to direct the upcoming female-led Spider-Man spinoff movie. The upcoming film will be a part of the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. This is not the first time the director will collaborate with Marvel. In the past, she had directed episodes for Jessica Jones and The Defenders. Other than these, Clarkson also has House, Dexter, and Succession, to her directing credit. The creators have not spilled any more information about the project.
