Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog Dicover three of Berlin’s best foodie neighborhoods with my personal recommendations on local favorite restaurants, bars and cafés A mecca of artists, bohemians and Europe’s creative class, Berlin is an old, historic city made new again thanks to a torn-down wall, a reunified country, and an influx of young people from around the world. Whether for world-class nightlife, new tech start-ups, unique fashion, cutting-edge art, or international food, visitors often fall in love with Berlin’s unique vibe, staying longer than expected and returning frequently.
Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog On my four year Berliniversary—four years living in Germany, I couldn’t believe I’d been there so long. Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog On the rise of indie gay publishing and LGBT culture – these gay magazines (or queer, if you prefer) highlight the best of LGBT news and culture In 2019, while visiting Los Angeles, I had the opportunity to visit the ONE Archives Foundation—an institution that researches, curates and collects items of importance to the LGBT world. In their small center, off the USC college campus, they store an archive of some of the most important LGBT publications throughout history—from the first edition of The Advocate to small, independent art zines. While walking through the narrow halls lined with steel bookshelves, I couldn’t help but realize something was missing.
Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog I’ve had my fair share of relationships as a 30-something gay man dating in NYC. In particular, this one relationship felt extremely fulfilling at the time, but post-breakup I realized all his toxic traits. The fact he had me buying him flights, paying for Ubers, spoiling him all the while receiving a different level of love and attention in return.
Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog I’ve been itching to visit Atlanta for years. Ever since the city hosted the 1996 Olympics, I’ve been fascinated by the city. The city has been at the forefront for a few of the 20th century’s most important cultural movements—ranging from the civil rights movement to hip-hop, and of course the headquarters for the world’s most popular soda.
Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog One of my favorite areas of Berlin is actually also one of the most touristic. Hackescher Markt is located only a short walk away from Berlin’s Alexanderplatz and is a popular place not just for tourists but also for locals. I think because of its central location and its huge selection of cool shops, cafés and decent restaurants (at every price level, too!), it’s a convenient place for just about everyone.

Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog Being a “hopeless romantic” as a gay millennial man means having a deep and idealistic belief in love and romantic relationships, often characterized by a strong desire for deep emotional connections and meaningful partnerships. I remember almost every detail of every love of mine; friendships and boyfriends. Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog Frugality is a smart financial approach for anyone, regardless of their sexual orientation. However, being a gay man may come with specific considerations and opportunities for saving money. It’s expensive to be gay! There are parties to attend, tickets to buy, Taylor Swift and Beyonce concert tickets to buy, Broadway shows, festivals—so many things! And then add in dating and hanging out with other single gay friends, and suddenly your paycheck is gone.

Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog JJ Malibu, a gay fashion brand that has made a name for itself in the LGBTQ+ fashion industry, is often celebrated for its bold and flamboyant designs. While there’s no denying that they have carved out a niche for themselves, it’s worth considering whether their popularity might be somewhat overrated when it comes to representing the diverse spectrum of gay fashion. Listen: I’m no snob when it comes to affordable and fun fashion, but the question is worth asking: Is JJ Malibu worth it? Below are some of the reasons why JJ Malibu’s prominence in the gay fashion world may not necessarily be as groundbreaking as it seems.
