Sony Pictures has renewed its first-look deal with “Peter Rabbit” producer Will Gluck through his Olive Bridge production company.
Gluck’s history at Sony includes directing the Emma Stone comedy “Easy A” ($75 million worldwide), “Friends With Benefits” ($150 million worldwide), the 2014 musical “Annie” ($134 million worldwide) and “Peter Rabbit” ($351 million worldwide). Gluck is in post-production on “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway,” which hits theaters on April 3.

Currently riding high at the global box office with “Bad Boys For Life,” Japanese electronics to entertainment conglomerate Sony reported third quarter profits of $2.10 billion (JPY220 billion). That is sharply down on the $3.83 billion reported at the same point last financial year. Revenues increased by $1 billion to reach $22.5 billion ($2.46 trillion), compared with $21.4 billion (JPY2.40 trillion).

Sony Pictures Classic is partnering with Stage 6 Films for worldwide rights to the immigration love story I Carry You With Me, which is set to be released later this year.Based on a true story, I Carry You With Me is a decades-spanning romance that begins in Mexico between two young men, an aspiring chef and a teacher.
Sony Pictures Classics has teamed with Sony’s Stage 6 Films to oversee the global release of Heidi Ewing’s feature narrative debut “I Carry You With Me (Te Llevo Conmigo),” a gay love story about two men who immigrate to the United States. The deal follows the movie’s enthusiastic reception at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The romantic drama debuted to multiple standing ovations in Park City, where it was shown in the NEXT section. It will be released later this year.
