A school in south Manchester is celebrating its recent "Outstanding" Ofsted rating.
St. Kentigern’s, in Fallowfield, has received a glowing report which says pupils at the school "epitomise the school’s aims and values. They are happy, confident, caring, knowledgeable and resilient.”
The school, which is part of the Emmaus Catholic Academy Trust, has retained its previous rating from the previous inspection in 2017 and has a history of results which are above the national average, and far above the local average.

The inspection report also noted that “pupils, across the school, excel across the curriculum" and that the school is a "calm and purposeful place for learning".
Madeline Muldoon, headteacher, said: “I know every headteacher is proud of the children and staff in their school but I honestly believe that the children of St. Kentigern’s are incredibly special.
"They are so creative and talented. Our teaching team is highly skilled and are dedicated to ensuring that every child reaches their fullest potential."
She said: “The senior leadership team, Mrs Scott (Deputy headteacher) and Mrs Malone (Assistant headteacher) have a significant amount of experience and play a huge part in ensuring our school’s success. Our Catholic faith is at the centre of everything we do.
“The inspection report acknowledged the pupils’ exemplary behaviour, stating 'pupils’ behaviour is exceptional in lessons and around school. The school is a calm and purposeful place of learning'.”
