After weeks of practice test papers, pupils have finally started their SATs tests this week.
The middle of May is when primary school children in Years 2 and 6 are assessed on maths and English.
In English, the tests focus on spelling, punctuation and grammar, and in maths, youngsters are tested on arithmetic and reasoning.

The tests themselves have been somewhat controversial over the years, with some parents and teachers calling for them to be axed as they believe they've made schools into exam factories.
But the government insists the 'tests are in pupils' own interests', helping both parents and teachers identify where additional support is needed to 'make sure all children leave primary school having mastered the basics of literacy and numeracy'.
Despite no longer being mandatory for Key Stage 1 (Year 2), they're still going ahead in many schools, although teachers do try to keep the testing procedure informal. Papers are not strictly timed, and are usually taken in a normal classroom situation, or in small groups in KS1, to keep the pressure off children.
We've put together a list of questions that KS1 children were given last year, some of whom would have been just six years old.
Have a go at the questions here, or below. You don't have to tell us how well you do (or not). But we have added some multiple choice answers when pupils don't always get these to pick from (no pressure).
If you fancy challenging yourself a bit more, you can tackle the mixed KS1 and KS2 test we put together here, or the separate KS2 test we put together for pupils aged 10 and 11.
