Philip Baker Hall has sadly passed away at the age of 90.
The character actor is best known for his roles in Boogie Nights, and as the Dunphy’s neighbor in Modern Family.
Philip‘s neighbor Sam Farmer, who is a sportswriter for the Los Angeles Times, shared the news on social media.
“My neighbor, friend, and one of the wisest, most talented and kindest people I’ve ever met, Philip Baker Hall, died peacefully last night. He was surrounded by loved ones. The world has an empty space in it,” he wrote.
Philip is also known for his roles in Rush Hour, Magnolia and Hard Eight.
He most recently appeared in the Messiah series on Netflix as Zelman Katz.
The show centers on a CIA officer who investigates a man, and his followers, and attracts international attention through acts of public disruption.
