Olivia Bowen has given birth to her first child with husband Alex Bowen with the couple announcing that they’ve named their new arrival Abel. Olivia, 28, and Alex, 30, met on the second season of Love Island and went on to get married in 2018 and announced at the beginning of the year that they were having a baby . The new mum has documented her pregnancy journey from the beginning, and has now announced that their tot has arrived.
Sharing a photo on Instagram, Olivia announced the baby boy’s full name as she wrote: "Abel Jacob Bowen. You are everything. 10/06/22." Alex then shared the nickname that they would be using for their new baby, saying: “Abel Jacob Bowen, but you can call him AJ… The day our lives changed for the better 10/06/22.” Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter.
Although the couple have not officially announced why they decided to name their new arrival Abel, the name has a variety of different potential meanings. The name Abel is a boy's name of Hebrew origin meaning "breath". In the Hebrew Bible, it is the name of Adam and Eve’s son, who is killed by his brother Cain. However, Abel doesn’t mean anything sinister, instead translating as “breath” or “vapour”, which can be associated with calm or the beauty of life.
Prior to sharing the news of their tot’s arrival online, Olivia admitted that she was nervous to share snaps of their baby on social media. She told OK!: "I know that having a baby I'm going to be judged for whatever I do. "I’ve seen so many parents being judged for silly things like giving their baby a dummy or not.
