Odsonne Edouard might have left Celtic two years ago but he showed memories of his time at Parkhead are still fresh - as he burst into a Hoops fans’ chant dedicated to him during a live TV interview.
The Frenchman was a record signing for Celtic when he joined in a £9million deal from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021, after an initial loan spell, and stayed for three years before signing for Crystal Palace for £4million more than the Scottish Premiership giants paid for him.
Edouard became a real fans’ favourite during his time in the east end of Glasgow and Celtic fans adopted the Stone Roses classic anthem ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ to fit the striker, changing the lyrics to ‘I Wanna Be Edouard’. It was often heard at grounds up and down the country when the frontman found the back of the net. And the 25-year-old showed just how much he loved it during an interview for French TV when he chanted it, with Celtic fans approving of his attempt.
Edouard admitted at the time he loved the song, telling the club magazine The Celtic View: “I hear the Celtic supporters singing the Stone Roses song with my name in place. I like it, and it drives me on when I’m on the pitch. It’s normally when I’ve played well, I’ve scored a goal or I’ve been close to scoring.” But he added: "The Stone Roses aren’t really my style of music, I’m more into rap music, so it’s not normally the kind of song I’d listen to in my own time. But I love listening to it during the game!”
