Eddie Howe could be sweating on the availability of strikers Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson ahead of Wednesday's trip to Manchester United.
Newcastle are in pole position to edge United out of a European spot for next season and they will be aiming to follow up their 3-0 win in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford earlier this season. Both teams have suffered chronic injury issues this season and some key men are battling to be fit for the fixture.
Wilson missed Newcastle's draw with Brighton on Saturday due to "illness and tightness", while Isak was substituted after 68 minutes having also suffered from illness in the build-up to the game. Both are expected to be in contention for the game at Old Trafford at this stage.

Kieran Trippier will hope to make his first start in more than two months having come off the bench against the Seagulls while centre-back Fabian Schar is battling to recover from a hamstring injury. The Magpies will definitely be without Lewis Miley, Joe Willock, Jamaal Lascelles, Sven Botman and the suspended Sandro Tonali.
Erik ten Hag will issue an update on United's injury issues on Tuesday but he will hope some key players are fit enough to return. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford trained on Friday but didn't make the matchday squad for the defeat to Arsenal, while Lisandro Martinez is also back in training and wanted to play against the Gunners.
Speaking before the game against Arsenal on Sunday, Ten Hag said of Fernandes: "In the last moment, Bruno could not make it, so we brought Amad [Diallo] into the team.
