Former Neighbours star Natalie Imbruglia has spoken of her devastation that the popular Aussie soap is being axed in the UK. Speaking on the Heart Breakfast show with JK and Kelly Brook, Natalie, 47, reflected on her time playing Beth Brennan in Ramsay Street, as she backed a fan petition to save the soap from being cancelled. Natalie, who portrayed Beth from 1992 to 1994, told the show’s hosts she was gutted about the news, saying: “Oh I think it's really sad!” The Aussie star, who was crowned the winner of The Masked Singer on Saturday 12 February after impressing the star detectives and fans, continued: “I think at this point we just thought it was gonna go on forever so, I, you know, people are petitioning.

Natalie then added: “I mean, who wants life without ‘Neighbours’? Let's face it.” The Torn singer and actress also said that Beth’s son Ned is still a major part of the soap, and that she wants to know what will happen to him next. She explained: “There's a character on the show who's my son! I mean, I think it’d be devastating.
What's going to happen to my son?” However, Natalie isn’t the only former Neighbours star to have her say on Channel 5’s controversial axing. Neighbours is reportedly hoping to reunite Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan for the Australian soap's farewell scenes as it faces being axed in the UK. According to new reports, Jason, 53, is said to have told show bosses that he is flying to Melbourne in April and he could potentially shoot a "dramatic comeback" — but he wants to be joined by Kylie, 53. Jason played Scott Robinson on the soap from 1986–1989 while Kylie played his on-screen wife Charlene Robinson from 1986–1988.
