My Chemical Romance give ‘Burn Bright’ its live debut at Raleigh gig

Father John Misty has covered Stevie Wonder‘s ‘I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)’ as part of a new live EP.‘Live At Electric Lady’ was recorded at the iconic Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village, New York City back in May. Comprising six tracks, the special collection contains live versions of five songs from FJM’s latest album ‘Chloë And The Next 20th Century’.Closing the EP is Father John Misty’s take on Wonder’s 1972 number ‘I Believe…’. Love Island 2022 favourite Indiyah Polack has welcomed a new addition to her fanclub in the form of US rap star Nicki Minaj.The dating show finalist, 23 - who came in third place place alongside new beau Dami Hope, 26 - yesterday recorded an Instagram Live video of herself rapping Nicki's new track 'Super Freaky Girl' alongside fellow Love Island alum Yewande Biala on a night out. Queen – lead guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor – joined the Foo Fighters to perform a five-song set of their own hits at the first Taylor Hawkins tribute concert.The special gig – which took place at Wembley Stadium last night (September 3) and was simulcast all over the web, TV and streaming platforms – honoured the late Foos drummer with performances from Liam Gallagher, Mark Ronson, Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Supergrass, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich and AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde, Blink-182’s Travis Barker, Kesha, and more.The Queen/Foos supergroup were introduced with archival footage of Hawkins himself, who welcomed Roger Taylor out at one of the Foos own shows before he passed. Hawkins was a noted superfan of the British rock icons, and Foos sets would often see the drummer take over from Dave Grohl to perform lead vocals on a cover of ‘Somebody To Love’.“When I was 10 years old, my older sister took me to go see Queen in concert – the first concert I ever saw – and I watched the fucking drummer, and I said, ‘I wanna fucking be him, I wanna do that’,” Hawkins says in the archival clip screened at last night’s concert, after hyping the crowd up with his imitation of Freddie Mercury’s famous “ay-oh” chant.The set itself began with a cover of Queen’s 1977 hit ‘We Will Rock You’, for which Taylor was joined on drums by his son Rufus, and Luke Spiller of The Struts sang lead vocals.

Confidence Man have covered DJ Sammy’s dance version of Bryan Adams‘ ‘Heaven’, performing it in-studio for the ‘Like A Version’ segment on Australian radio station triple j.The cover was broadcast earlier this morning (September 2), and saw co-frontpeople Janet Planet and Sugar Bones don sunglasses known within Australian vernacular as “speed dealers”. The performance also featured choreographed dancing from the two – a key part of the band’s live performances since their inception.Watch the band’s cover of ‘Heaven’ below:In a post-performance interview, Planet said that they wanted to cover a song that had a “’90s rave vibe”.

My Chemical Romance’s ‘The Mad Gear And Missile Kid’ EP has finally been made available on streaming, 12 years after it was first released.The three-track record was originally released in 2010 as the soundtrack for the fictional Killjoys who inhabit the cartoonish, post-apocalyptic world of My Chemical Romance’s ‘Danger Days’.Now ‘F.T.W.W.W.’, ‘Mastas Of Ravenkroft’ and ‘Black Dragon Fighting Society’ are available to listen on streaming services.Announcing the news, My Chemical Romance’s Frank Iero said: “Originally released back in 2010 as part of the ‘Danger Days’ universe, ‘The Mad Gear And Missile Kid’ EP is now available to stream on Spotify. Leo Barraclough International Features Editor Documentary “Bobi Wine: Ghetto President,” which world premieres Out of Competition at the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 1, centers on a man’s pursuit of freedom and justice for his country, but at the film’s heart is a love story. Variety speaks to the filmmakers, and unveils the trailer, the first time any footage has been released. The film, directed by Christopher Sharp and Moses Bwayo, and produced by Sharp and Oscar-winner John Battsek, follows the attempt by musician Bobi Wine to topple the repressive regime of Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni. Sharp has a personal connection to Uganda: both his father and he were born there, and he spent a large part of his childhood in the country. He met Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi, in 2017, just after the musician had become a Member of Parliament.

Brits are waiting in anticipation to discover who will become the next Love Island host. Irish model Laura Whitmore, 37, announced she would be stepping down as presenter of ITV2's hit reality show this week.

Laura Whitmore has confirmed that she will not be coming back to Love Island UK when the reality show returns for its winter season at the beginning of 2023.
