Mum who offered to be surrogate for son and daughter-in-law 'can't wait' to give birth to granddaughter

A 56-year-old mum who offered to be a surrogate for her son and his wife says she can't wait to give birth to to her granddaughter. Nancy Huack is carrying son Jeff Hauck, 32 and his wife Cambria's baby.
The couple had struggled to conceive before welcoming twins, Vera and Ayva, now three, and another set, Diseal and Luka, 11 months, through IVF. Following the traumatic pregnancy, Cambria had to undergo a hysterectomy, meaning she is no longer able to carry children.
Despite this, the couple still desperately wanted to expand their family - with mum Nancy soon offering to help, the Mirror reports. The parent said she had 'a feeling' she should be the one to carry their child and told Jeff, a computer scientist, that she would be willing to be their surrogate.
Despite Nancy worrying that she wouldn't be able to go through with the pregnancy because of her age, doctors told her that she was healthy enough to be a gestational carrier.
The family started the hormone treatment in January 2022, before the fertilised embryo was transferred at a clinic in February. Luckily the transfer was a success and now Nancy is expecting her biological granddaughter and can’t wait to give birth, and the whole family are now over the moon.
Nancy, an administrator from Utah, US, said: "I never imagined I would be pregnant at 56 or that this would be possible, but it is the most beautiful thing. I never planned for it, but I had this feeling not long after Cambria's traumatic birth that I should carry their baby.
"I told them I was willing but that I thought I would be old. But to my surprise medics said I was healthy and could do it and here I am.
