Goldenvioce has announced the first-ever Cruel World Festival for Southern California with headlining spots from Morrissey, Bauhaus, Blondie and Devo.
The single-day festival will take place at The Grounds at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, on May 2.
Cruel World’s lineup pulls heavily from alt rock of the 1980s and 1990s with scheduled appearances from The Psychedelic Furs, Echo & The Bunnymen, Violent Femmes and many more.

David Roback, the founding member of popular bands such as Mazzy Star, Opal and Rain Parade died at age 61. Roback’s representative confirmed the news of his death to The Los Angeles Times and Variety.
David Roback, producer and Mazzy Star co-founder, has died, a rep for the band confirmed to Billboard. He was 61 years old.The California-born Roback played in bands throughout the mid-'80s, including Rain Parade and Opal, before co-founding the seminal West Coast band Mazzy Star alongside Hope Sandoval in 1989.
