Prince Harry has returned to the UK alone once again, leaving his wife Meghan Markle behind. The Duke of Sussex flew into London on Tuesday to attend a celebration for the Invictus Games.
Despite being 'listed as a guest' for the service, according to insiders who spoke to the Express earlier this month, there was uncertainty over whether the Duchess would be making an appearance.
However, it was soon confirmed by a spokesperson for the couple that Meghan would be staying put in California, a decision that didn't surprise many Royal observers.
Since stepping back from Royal duties in 2020, Meghan has only visited the UK three times. One of these visits was for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, where she and Harry received a less than warm welcome.
The Sussexes made their first joint public appearance with the Royal Family in two years at a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral as part of the Jubilee celebrations. However, footage of the couple departing the service showed them being booed by the crowd, reports the Mirror.
Meghan also chose not to accompany her husband when he returned to the UK for King Charles' coronation in May 2023.
According to recent reports, Prince William and Princess Kate attempted a reconciliation effort with Meghan and Harry, by inviting them to bring their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK for a visit. However, Meghan is believed to have declined the request firmly.
Tom Quinn, a Royal insider, revealed to Mirror that "There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK. William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to makeup, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far."
