Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard has commented on international teammate Erling Haaland and his potential transfer away from Borussia Dortmund.
Recent reports have claimed that Manchester City have agreed a £500,000-a-week deal with the attacker ahead of a big money move this summer. Real Madrid are said to be still keen on the 21-year-old but the Premier League champions are firm frontrunners.
Odegaard plays alongside Haaland for native country Norway and he described the superstar as a “good friend” in a recent interview. He also responded to questions over Haaland’s future.

Although they have a close relationship, Odegaard admitted that he doesn’t know too much about Haaland’s transfer plans. He tongue-in-cheek suggested that the striker should move to Arsenal if he was going to emigrate to England.
“He is a funny guy. A good friend of mine and a great player,” he told Stadium Astro.
“We will see what he will do. I don’t know – but, if he is coming to England, he needs to come to us [Arsenal] of course!”
He added: “I don’t know what he will do but he is a great guy. To be honest we haven’t talked too much about it.
“I know he has so many people trying to ask him and to tell him what to do and I don’t want to do that. So, we will see what happens.”
Odegaard said he believes Haaland could succeed anywhere that he decides to play his football, hailing him as the complete striker.
He said: “He’s a beast. He is strong, he is fast, and I think he has everything. So, I think he can play in every league, in every country to be honest.”
