Manchester United have set their sights on signing Erling Haaland alternative Alexander Isak from Spanish side Real Sociedad - according to reports.
Speculation over Haaland and his Borussia Dortmund future remains at fever pitch.
United and neighbours Manchester City are among the elite European clubs wanting to snap-up the Norway striker when his £64million release clause activates next summer.
But only one team will be successful in that regard.
One alternative Dusan Vlahovic has already completed a move to Juventus during the January transfer window.
That decision has, in turn, seen interest in Isak increase.
According to The Mirror, key figures in the Old Trafford boardroom are monitoring the Sweden international.
Currently with Sociedad, the 22-year-old also has an inviting release clause (£75million) and the same report claims United are willing to part with that fee for his services. Isak has four years left to run on his contract and caught the eye during the delayed Euro 2020 finals last summer.
He has scored eight goals in 26 appearances this season and his overall tally for Sociedad reads 41 in 115.
Isak signed for the Spanish side for £13.5million from Dortmund in 2019 and was eventually replaced by Haaland.
Elsewhere, clubs across the Premier League - including United and City - are reported to have been handed a huge boost in the almighty scramble that awaits for Haaland.
