United endured their worst season for decades last season, but Saturday evening's defeat at Brentford was another harrowing low in the club's history. United conceded four goals in the first half and they were embarrassed, outfought and outplayed.
Although Erik ten Hag's appointment gave supporters hope this summer, the good feeling that his arrival created has already been made redundant. It seems nothing has changed from last term, with the same problems evident once again.

United have played two games this season and they have lost both, which means they are bottom of the Premier League. "I'm not sure, to be honest," De Gea told Sky Sports when asked how United can improve results, appearing visibly dejected.
"Other teams are improving a lot and it looks like we're in the same place. It was a good pre-season but that is not enough.
"We have to show in the Premier League games, they are the games that matter. We need to stick together, work harder than we are working, try to learn as quick as possible what the manager wants and play for the badge, play for the club."
United play Liverpool next at Old Trafford on Monday, 22 August.
