Man arrested over Tupac Shakur's death 27 years after fatal shooting

A man has been arrested over the death of rap legend Tupac Shakur - 27 years after he was fatally shot. Tupac died in 1996 during a drive-by shooting that took place on the Las Vegas Strip.
Duane “Keffe D” Davis was arrested on Friday morning (September 29) in connection with Tupac's death. However, the exact charge or charges have yet to be confirmed. It is expected that Davis will be indicted later today.
Davis has previously admitted in interviews and in his 2019 memoir, Compton Street Legend, that he was inside the Cadillac where the gun was fired during the September 1996 drive-by shooting. The arrest by Las Vegas police represents a long-awaited break in the case.

His arrest comes two months after police raided Davis's wife's home in Neigbouring Henderson. Documents revealed that officers were looking for items "concerning the murder of Tupac Shakur”.
According to police, multiple computers, a mobile phone, a hard drive, a Vibe magazine featuring Tupac were all collected during the raid. Officers also found .40-calibre bullets, two "tubes containing photographs" and a copy of Davis' memoir.
In his book, Davis said he broke his silence over Tupac's death in 2010 during a meeting with federal and local authorities. At the time he was 46 and facing life in prison on drug charges when he agreed to speak with the authorities.
