A Bolton man has admitted causing the death of a 36-year-old dad-of-four by dangerous driving.
Mohammed Khan, 26, appeared at Bolton Crown Court this morning (March 21) and pleaded guilty to driving the Mercedes that collided with Tariq Khan’s quad bike in Green Lane on May 6, 2020. He also admitted to driving a Mercedes dangerously on St Helens Road and Lever Street on May 3, 2020.
Mohammed Khan, of Manchester Road, will be sentenced for both incidents on May 24.

Mohammed Randera, 37, of Willis Street, appeared alongside Mohammed Khan in the dock and denied a charge of perverting the course of justice - in relation to the May 3 incident. Mohammed Khan denied the same charge and prosecution barrister Brian Berlyne confirmed that the CPS would not be pursuing a conviction in relation to the perverting the course of justice charges.
Mr Singh, defending both men, asked for a pre-sentence report and psychiatric report to be prepared ahead of Mohammed Khan’s sentencing hearing.
The Honorary Recorder of Bolton Judge Martin Walsh extended Mohammed Khan’s conditional bail until the date of hearing. Judge Walsh also imposed an interim driving ban on Mohammed Khan.
Following Tariq’s death, his cousin Wahid told the Manchester Evening News : “He was the life and soul of the party. He was a bubbly character who got along with everyone.
“If you met him, within 10 minutes he would become your best friend.
“We’re all devastated. His mum has not stopped crying, not even for three minutes."
