Jerry Bishop, who announced the iconic Judge Judy daytime courtroom show for 24 years, passed away on Tuesday after heart complications and kidney failure, his granddaughter told the Hollywood Reporter.
He was 84.
The Hartford, Conn. born Bishop got a degree in broadcast journalism at Emerson College, before transitioning into radio.
In 1963, he began working at San Diego’s KCBQ, moving two years later to KLAC in Los Angeles with his wife, Velma Joan Leventhal, who passed away in 2007.
