Halsey Will Be the Musical Guest on the First 2020 Episode of 'Saturday Night Live'

The 2020 Critics' Choice Awards on Sunday is set to be a star-studded event.

Over the weekend, Dexter Fletcher’s “Rocketman” received a surge on the Oscar buzz meter. Elton John, whose life the film is based on, won a Golden Globe for “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” beating out Beyonce (for “The Lion King”) and Taylor Swift (for “Cats”).

Talk about a throwback. During Bill Hader‘s time on Saturday Night Live, he joined Andy Samberg, host-at-the-time Shia LaBeouf and cast member Kristen Wiig for “The Shooting AKA Dear Sister,” a digital short by The Lonely Island.

Taron Egerton, who portrays Elton John in last year’s biopic Rocketman, has won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. He beat out Leonardo DiCaprio (Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood), Eddie Murphy (I Am Dolemite), Daniel Craig (Knives Out), and Roman Griffin Davis (Jojo Rabbit) for the trophy.
