The latest figures from the Scottish Government show there are estimated to be around 850,000 people with hearing loss in Scotland and of those, 70 per cent are over 70. Thousands of families across Scotland with a disabled child or young person will receive a one-off payment later this year to help with energy bills later this year. Child Winter Heating Assistance is paid automatically once a year to those in receipt of disability benefits and will increase by 10.1 per cent to £235.70 for winter 2023-2024.

New research from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) suggests that around one in five adults were finding bills and credit commitments a heavy burden by the start of this year.
