Diz said: “You could tell it had really bothered Jackson as he told me about it and said it made him sad.
“Then, a couple of evenings later, Jackson got so upset and said, ‘mummy we need to take blankets up straight away, they must be so cold’.
“He just hugged me so tight, and I promised we would do something.”
Diz runs a fundraiser every year around May, where she does free haircuts for cancer charities - previously raising an incredible £800 for the Vale of Leven oncology unit.
The well-being project worker at the Phoenix believes it is important for her kids to give back.
She said: “Our kids are used to us giving back, helping in any way we can.
“We made a video, and it’s been shared around. We run a toy drive for brand-new toys each year, and we drop them off between both food banks. So we are so proud of our boy for being so thoughtful.
“We hope to achieve the chance to help the homeless community every year, and I think it’s important for kids to know Christmas isn’t just about receiving gifts, it’s about family and giving back.”
